Consumers visiting the Better Business Bureau’s website (www.bbb.org) to check out a business they are considering hiring to provide them with a product or service, have a new option available to simplify accessing BBB Reliability ReportsTM in the future. Visitors to the BBB’s website can now download a program that will allow them to instantly search for BBB Reliability ReportsTM from their personalized iGoogle webpage.
iGoogle allows people to customize a personalized webpage by adding themes and gadgets from across the web. It also incorporates popular Google search engine applications within an individual’s customized webpage content.
The new iGoogle application allows consumers to find Better Business Bureau reviews and ratings on businesses or charities throughout the United States and Canada. People can search for BBB reports directly from their personalized iGoogle webpage by business name, or find companies like plumbers, painters, and electricians based on the distance from a submitted zip code.
“Checking out a business with the BBB is now as simple as logging onto your iGoogle webpage,” said Tim Burns, Public Affairs Director of the Better Business Bureau Serving Detroit & Eastern Michigan. “Prominently displaying the BBB’s Reliability ReportTM search application on your iGoogle webpage is a good reminder to be a savvy consumer in your day to day transactions. Taking a few seconds to regularly check to see if the companies you do business with have a positive record with the BBB is a good way to potentially head off hours of headaches later on.”
BBB Reliability ReportsTM are FREE to the public and provide an evaluation of a company’s customer service history with the Better Business Bureau. Reliability Reports contain background, licensing, consumer experience, and other information relating to a business. They also contain ratings on businesses ranging from A+ to F. The grade represents BBB’s degree of confidence that the business is operating in a trustworthy manner and will make a good faith effort to resolve any customer concerns.
